The Robert F. Wharton Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization formed to continue the legacy and dreams of Robert Fleming Wharton. The Foundation seeks to inspire, encourage and motivate young people in the pursuit of excellence. The Foundation works to achieve these goals through fundraising for academic opportunities and youth athletic programs. Thanks to the generosity of individuals and businesses, the Foundation is able to provide scholarships for high school seniors as well as athletic opportunities for young people. The primary fundraising project of the Foundation is the annual “Players Ball, 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament,” a co-ed basketball tournament open to middle school students through adults. The Tournament brings together members of the community and helps to raise money for the various athletic opportunities and academic scholarships. The Foundation is in the process of teaming up with various community businesses and corporations in order to assist young people in attaining their goals. Support for the Robert F.
